"I need to talk to Lina."

"Get lost."

The guy, who Lina had said was named Jonathon, stepped back, away from Lina. He held his hands up in surrender. "Okay, I'm going."

"Of course. Kaya can have a family dinner another time." Horatio smiled, but he knew something wasn't right, and he knew Kaya would be mad at him.

"That's okay." Horatio climbed into his car with Natalia and Kaya. "Kaya, honey, we need to go visit Aunt Lina, okay?"

"She's coming to dinner with us though." Kaya looked confused.

"Not tonight, honey."

"You can play with the puppies. That's fun, right?" Natalia said, trying to keep a jovial tone, making sure Kaya couldn't read her eyes. "And we'll still have supper. You can help me make something for everyone, okay? Maybe you can even swim if we have time."

"Okay, Mommy." Kaya wasn't happy anymore.

Natalia put her hand on Horatio's arm gently, just long enough to comfort him. Horatio looked over. "Thank you, Nat. I know you wanted to go out too."

"I'll be fun." Natalia knew it would be anything but, but was still trying to comfort Kaya.

They parked behind Ryan and Lina and the dogs came to greet Kaya. Kaya bent down to pat the dogs, but she followed her mother into the house quickly. She didn't like that her dinner plan had changed.

Ryan was trying to comfort Lina inside. She wasn't crying, but she couldn't stop shaking. Horatio went straight to his daughter. After a quick hug, he turned to speak to her. "Was that him?" She nodded, brushing some hair out of her face.

Natalia busied herself getting Lina something to drink at first, trying to think of something to do for her. She found a lap blanket in the hall closet and gave it to Ryan to put around Lina.

Horatio was getting angrier and angrier. His daughter was off limits to everyone, unless he knew that they wouldn't hurt her. "Can I do something now?"

"You can call Eric and tell him what's going on," Natalia told him softly.

"All right. But I will get this idiot. He won't get away with hurting my little girl."

"Horatio, that's the last thing she needs to worry about right now." Natalia told him where Lina couldn't hear.

"She won't know. I can do it secretly."

"Do I need to give you a time out?"

"This isn't funny, Nat."

"Who the hell is laughing, Horatio? I don't find any of this funny. Lina needs you. Kyle and Kaya need you. I need you, as do the rest of the team. Do not do anything stupid."

Horatio knew she was right. He gave up and called Eric, then returned to his daughter.

Natalia turned around to see Kaya standing there, absorbing it all.

"Mommy, why is Aunt Lina sad? And why did you tell Dad off?"

"Come with me, sweetheart." She held an arm around Kaya in a hug as they walked to the kitchen. "You know we talked about what we all do is catch bad guys, right?"

"Yes."

"The guy tonight, at the game, he was a bad guy. He wants to hurt Aunt Lina, but no one's going to let him, okay?"

"I can kick him if he comes near Aunt Lina. Can I, Mommy?"

"Uncle Eric's going to talk with him. All this will die down. And I wasn't telling your dad off. I was trying to protect him. Like sometimes we have to have talks with you, to try to protect you, right?"

"You tell me off, Mommy," laughed Kaya. "But I want to hurt him cause he hurt my Aunt Lina."

"I know you do. That's what Daddy wanted too. But sometimes things aren't that easy, baby."

"I know it's not, baby. I wish we could fix things for her, but all we can really do is be here for her. That's why Dad decided to cancel dinner tonight. So we could be here with Aunt Lina."
