He nodded, running his hand over his shorn head. "How did you even begin to make up the time you lost? When you were overseas?" He tried to approach it carefully. He didn't know if she discussed it with KC, Deeks, or Nate, but knew they'd never discussed it before.

Kensi took a deep breath, feeling much the same way as when she and KC had spoke about it the day KC had told her about Joelle. "I didn't. I guess being with Deeks made me forget all about being gone for so long. It's still hard, there are some things that we don't have like we used to, but we make it work until everything is better again."

I mean, I know things are not all right between you and Hetty and I don't really want to know what that's all about, but you and Deeks...you just seem like normal again." He smiled slightly. "You know, you guys...You're lucky. Sometimes I don't know...I didn't know how to choose between Sam and KC. The pregnancy was the excuse I used. I mean, I was scared about starting a family, but I got so tired of being in the middle. She would never say anything and Sam would never stop saying things and it was just a mess, but you and Deeks have got everything rolled into one."
