"You don't have to tell anyone anything you don't want to. Although Callen is worried about you." He paused, not wanting to keep anything from her. "He already knows something's going on with Hetty. That's one of the things we were talking about. He's going to try to find out what's going on. She's been reacting strangely all year. It just gets worse."

He nodded. "I need to finish our conversation anyway." He paused. "There's a possibility the man that hurt you might have done it to others. That maybe that's why he was killed. Callen was going to look into it, but he had some questions that I couldn't answer." He paused. "Would you be okay talking with him? If he asks something you don't want to answer right now, you could just tell him that. He wanted to come out, but I wasn't sure KC would be okay with that."

"Of course." She handed her daughter over.
Kensi took Alina into her arms and hugged the child, finding comfort in the baby's babbles.
"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" Deeks whispered to KC.
"What's the worst that could happen?" KC whispered back, giving him what she hoped was a reassuring smile.
Kensi finally felt a smile coming out. "She always makes me happy, always. I wish I had a baby too." Without realizing, she had said it aloud a and felt embarrassed immediately. "Sorry."
"You know it's not all fun and games, right?" KC said before Deeks could react. "She's being incredibly good right now because she loves her auntie so much but there's times when you can't figure out why she's crying, there's nights when you're up until dawn because she's sick and you can't make it better."
"I still want one. I'll take her for a few days. Or I can stay with you."
"Honey, you're welcome to stay with me anytime you want. You're welcome to take her for a few days, as long as you give her back." She smiled at the last, not mentioning that she didn't want Alina anywhere near Hetty or Sam and wasn't crazy about the idea of Callen being in her life after he'd walked out of it.
"I'll stay then." Kensi smiled. "When you need a babysitter, tell me. I'll happily do it."
Deeks walked away to call Callen while the two women were talking, staying where he could keep an eye on Kensi.
"How is Ali anyway?"
"Perfect. She's perfect." Lina brushed some dark hair back. "I've got to figure out what I'm going to do when my leave runs out though."
"I can ask my mum to babysit."
"I don't know how long I can stand being away from her, even if I know how well she's taken care of."
"Are you going back part time?"
"There is no part time with the Marine Corps. You know that. At least not with my training."
"My mum will take care of her really well and I can bring her home each night."
"That might work, temporarily." She paused. "I wish I could talk to Michelle about what she did, but this thing with Sam..."
"I'll talk to her for you."
"I don't know. Things have gotten so screwed up."

"No. It's okay. I want to kill her."
"Hetty? Girl, stand in line. You're about third, behind me and Deeks."
"I think I should get the first go after what she did."
She started to say Kensi had no idea, but realized there was things that she hadn't told her friend. "Maybe you and Deeks could double team her. He's wanted to kill her since you got sent overseas."
"Why?"
"Because you got sent away from him."
"Fair enough. I want to kill her for sending me on a death mission."
"I think somewhere along the line that got added to his and my reasoning."
"Why did she become so mean? Did I do something to her?"
"Honey, she's being a bitch to everyone."
"She didn't tell everyone about others being attacked."
"You're right." She was evasive. "Do you need something to drink? Eat?"
"No. What aren't you telling me?"
"It doesn't matter."
"It does."
"Do you think I should go check on Deeks?"
"Not until you tell me what's going on."
"Nothing's going on." She got up and went to check on Deeks.
That was the statement that made Kensi sure that something was happening.

"Is he coming?" KC asked Deeks.
"Yes. Should be here soon. How's Kens?"
"I screwed up. I almost told her about Hetty. Like she needs anything else to worry about."
"And now she won't let it go?"
She nodded.
"I'll fix it."
"I'll owe you."
"Just look after Kens."
"She said something about Julia watching Alina during the day, her at night, while I finish up my time..." She paused. "Would you be okay with that? I don't want to make things difficult for you guys. You've been through enough."
"It's no problem. She's my niece."
She smiled. "How come more guys can't be like you?" She didn't envy Kensi Deeks, knowing he wasn't perfect, but he was perfect for her friend. She wished Alina's father could have been as interested in her as her godfather.
"No clue."
She made a face at him. "We should go back in there before Kens goes crazy...ier."
"Good idea."
She walked back in with him. Kensi looked up when they came back in.
"Callen's on the way," KC tried to sound more cheerful than she felt.
"Oh, okay. Are you guys going to stay with me still?"
"Of course," KC said as Deeks nodded.
"Thank you."
He kissed her hair. "No problem." He settled down beside her.
"Deeks, when KC goes back to work, we are looking after Ali."
"Cool." He grinned at his goddaughter, but didn't try to take her from Kensi.
