"Is there maybe another way we can go? A back entrance?" Greg asked, willing to do anything to get his best friend and girlfriend out.

"I don't know."

"I'm going to go look. Tell me when it's our turn to dig."
Nick nodded, taking one of the radios. "I'll go help him." He knew enough about places like this to know that you didn't go alone.

Nick nodded, remembering the first time he'd been out in the desert like this with Sara. The rapel down the rope, the db, teasing her about the smell...He had a lump in his throat.

Greg started to walk off, wanting to save the girls as quickly as possible. Nick hurried behind him.
"The girls are fine Nicky."
"I know. Morgan's gonna take care of Sara and Sara will of Morgan." The three girls were like sisters.
"Yep. Totally."
The first step was to walk around and try to see an opening that they could widen.
"See anything?"
"Maybe." Nick started trying to move the earth near his foot.
"Let me help."
Nick nodded, kneeling, making room for Greg beside him. The two of them started to dig with their hands.
"Sara? Morgan? Can you hear us?" It seemed impossible that they did.
No response was heard.
"It's okay. Keep digging," Nick said even as they both did just that.
Sara looked up when she heard scratching. "Hey Morgan, can you hear that?"
Morgan winced as she stood, feeling along the wall of the tomb-like cave, trying to find where the sound was coming from.
"Here!" Sara shouted as she saw a small hole appear in the wall.
Morgan started trying to dig as well, trying to make the hole bigger. Sara joined her, soon seeing some light. Nick realized the hole was getting bigger from the inside as well. "Good girls," he whispered under his breath.
"Morgan! Can you hear me?" called Greg.
"Greg!" She dug faster.
"Are you guys okay?"
"Yeah. Just hurry." The air was cool and thin.
"We're coming," said Nick. "Sara?"
"I'm here, Nicky. We're okay."
"Just stay good. I don't want to lose you."
Finn came to check on them and started helping. Even with the five of them digging, it took another two hours before it was big enough and safe enough for the girls to be lifted out by a rope.
"Morgan, go first. You need to get that ankle checked."
She shook her head. "I trust you Sara and I know it's okay but I can't leave you down here. I just can't."
"I'm right behind you."
Morgan shook her head. "I can't." Not even for as little time as it would take for Sara to be brought up behind her.
"We can't fit together."
"Then go."
"Are you sure?"
She nodded. Sara took a breath and then grabbed the dangling rope. Nick pulled her up and then held her as Greg started to pull up Morgan.
"She needs her ankle checked Greggo."
"He's got her, babe. Just rest." Nick took his jacket and put it around her.
"Thanks." She held the jacket tightly.
Finn came back with the medics. "I want you to get checked out. I know you'll say you're okay, but I want you to do it anyway," Nick told Sara.
"Come with me?"
"Of course."
Sara nodded, holding his hand. Morgan braced herself in a hug against Greg when he brought her up.
"You need to get checked too."
"It's just a sprain."
"Still."
"Come with me?" She'd spent so much time in a hospital that even medics made her nervous.
"Yes."
She walked with him, trying to hide the pain. "What time is it?"
"Almost dinner. Why?"
"I was supposed to go eat with Dad and Jim tonight, remember?" She asked gently.
"I'm sure they'll understand. You need to rest."
"I just want to go home with you." She leaned her head against his shoulder.
"As soon as you've been checked."
They checked the girls' breathing and pulse and one of the medics checked Morgan's swollen ankle.
"Is she okay?" asked Greg.
"She can walk and stand on it, so it's obviously not broken. As long as she keeps it wrapped, lets it rest, alternate ice and heat on it, it should heal in no time."
"Can I take her home?"
"Sure."
Nick checked on them. "I think I have some crutches around the house if she needs them."
"Thanks."
"Nicky, I want to go home too."
"I know, babe. We are," Nick promised Sara, his arms going around her again.
"Now?"
"As soon as you're released." He looked at the medic who nodded.
"Thank you."
"Can you tell Russell?" Nick asked Finn.
"It's handled. Just go." There was relief in her face and on her eyes as she watched the two couples leave.

Greg drove so that Nick could sit with Sara and he dropped them off first, getting the crutches while they were there.
(we can go with either couple or if you want to combine them we can)

(I was thinking about the one where we had greg & morgan living together, forgot we had no one knowing supposedly here, i'll change it)
Greg drove to the girls' house, knowing he could go get those crutches later if Morgan needed, and would use, them.

(ok)
Sara and Nick walked in together behind Greg and Morgan.

"Are you hungry? I could make you something to eat," Nick offered both girls. He'd lost track of how long they'd been down there, how long it had been since either ate anything.

He kissed her cheek, watching her leave before saying, "Morgan, you gotta eat so you can take your medication."
"Grilled cheese sounds great, Nick." She said, distracted.
