"Poor guy. He must be so upset."

"He's scared for you. He loves you. You're his main concern, now and always."

"I wish I could remember him. I mean, I know who he is, but I don't really understand him."

"I think it's time to go." She was hoping if Kensi got back into her apartment, saw some of the pictures, remembered some of the times there with Deeks, that she would remember him.

They walked into the house together an hour later.

Kensi looked around her, smiling when she saw some of her father's things laying around. She immediately felt at home and went through the house, looking at photos on the walls. She found one of her with KC and Ali, then found one of her with three men, one of which was Deeks.
"KC? Who are these people?" she asked, pointing at the team photo that had been taken before Afghanistan.

"Honey, that's Sam," she pointed to the bulky ex-Seal. "And that's Callen." She had a hint of a smile on her face like Kensi usually did when she talked about Deeks.

"They came to the hospital. My team, right?" She looked at Deeks. "My partner." She pointed him out with a smile.

Although the team looked like the family they were, it was obvious to see the partner teams as well.
(wasn't hetty in that picture she looked at overseas?)

(no, just the four of them i think.)
"I look so happy, but I don't remember that. I enjoy myself with them, don't I?"

"Sam and Callen are like brothers to you, especially Callen. And Deeks..."

"Is my boyfriend. I know that. I just don't remember him properly."
KC played with the television for a little while until a video came on.
Kensi watched, recognition finally lighting her face. "That was Christmas two years ago, before I went to Afghanistan, before Hetty was being horrible. Deeks and I weren't together yet, but we did like each other. A lot."
The next video was a basketball game, Deeks and Kensi against Callen and Sam. The boys were clapping hands, bragging, but it was Deeks who lifted Kensi into a hug when their team won.
"I need to call Deeks. I need to get him to come over," said Kensi, though she was still focused on the screen.
The third was Deeks and Kensi surfing while KC and Callen watched from the beach, her head against his shoulder, their arms locked together, Deeks and Kensi laughing with each other. The last was obvious when Alina was just born, the first time Kensi held her, Deeks right by her side.
"Happy memories." She pulled out her phone. "Deeks?"
He picked up the phone. "Kens?"
"Can you come over? I need to talk to you."
"On my way."
Kensi thanked him and hung up. "KC, I think I want to stay here tonight. Is that okay?"
"You want me to stay until he gets here?"
"Yes. And maybe overnight too?"
"Of course, sweetheart, if you're sure."
"I am."
She turned the television off as the videos ended.
Soon, Deeks arrived and Kensi let him in.
KC excused herself, taking Alina with her. "Are you okay?" Deeks asked, worried, although part of him knew if she wasn't, KC wouldn't have left the room.
Kensi answered him with a kiss and a hug. "I'm sorry it took me so long to remember you."
"You remember?" He asked, hugging her.
She nodded. "KC showed me some videos, and there are photos everywhere. You just popped into my head and I remembered you."
He smiled the characteristic smile he saved for her. "I missed you."
"I love you so much Deeks."
"I love you too, Kens." He held her close, closing his eyes.
