"We want to make sure the baby is safe. If you want her, I'm happy with that."
"I do. I didn't know how much until I thought I couldn't have her."
"She needs a name. What do you want to call her?"
"Rose. Rosie." Came out before she even thought about it.
"Lovely. Rosie it is."
She stood, holding his hand. "Ryan," she called as they walked out together.
"Yeah?"
"Come meet Rosie."
"Rosie?"
"Our little girl."
Ryan smiled.

"Careful, sweetheart," Natalia reminded her daughter yet again.
"Sorry, I'm trying mummy."
"I know. I thank you for your help."
"Is she staying?"
"If she doesn't, she'll be around."
"Where?"
"Either with us or with Lina."
"Oh."
"What, sweetie?"
"If she goes to Lina, then Lina won't play with me anymore."
"Of course she will. She loves you. You're her baby sister."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Kaya smiled happily."
Cars pulled up out front. "That should be your dad."
"Daddy!" She ran to the door.
"Hey, sweetheart," Horatio hugged his daughter, kissing her head. Lina and Ryan parked behind him.
"Baby in the kitchen daddy."
"Okay." He headed towards the kitchen as Lina hugged and kissed Kaya.
"You're taking her, aren't you?"
"Yeah, baby, I am. But that means you get to be an aunt. That's cool, right?"
"Will you still play with me and let me sleep over?"
"Of course. You're my baby sister. You're welcome anytime."
"Do you mean it?"
"Of course I do."
Kaya smiled again and hugged Lina tightly.
"C'mon." She said, holding her hand.
"Where are we going?"
"Ryan and I are going to meet our daughter. And you are coming with your family."
"Does she have a name?"
"Rose." She looked at Ryan who nodded. "But you can pick her middle name, if you want."
"Amber?"
"If that's what you want. But maybe we could make it her first name and just call her rose or rosie?"
"No. Rose is a pretty name."

Again that was something she hadn't thought about. Kyle didn't have either of his parents' last names. She shared her dad's of course, but used her mother's for work in order to be seen as something other than Horatio Caine's child. "I don't know, baby."

Lina picked up the baby, cradling her gently in her arms. "Hello," she whispered.
Rose looked up at her and smiled.
"I'm your mommy."
"Gagaga."
She gently put the baby into Ryan's arms, showing him how to hold her.
"She's cute."
Rose grinned up at him.
"I love you gorgeous girl."
"K, you want to hold her?" Lina offered.
"Mummy said no."
"C'mon. I'll help you."
"Really?"
She nodded. "Sit down."
Kaya sat and held her arms out.
Lina helped her hold the baby.
"She's so little."
"She is. And she doesn't have a big sister, so she's gonna need an aunt, you know, to help her figure things out."
"That's me!"
"So how can you think I won't need you?"
"I just thought you would be too busy to play with me."
"Never."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. Ready to give her back or keep holding her?"
"Hold."
Lina smiled. "Okay."
Kaya smiled. "Can I kiss her?"
Lina nodded, smiling again. She leaned down and kissed Rose. Rose goo-ed at her.
"She's happy."
"She is. She's a happy little girl."
"You can have her now."
Lina almost laughed when she found out why. "Nat, is there a place where I can change her?"
"Yeah, use our bedroom."
"Thanks." She took one of the diapers that Natalia had gotten that day and headed to the back.

Much to Kaya's worry, they didn't stay near as long as they usually did before Lina and Ryan took the baby home.
