"We should go inside," said Finn, gently leading Greg in.

"It'll be all right, sweetheart," Nick whispered to Sara, his arm protectively around her as he followed his friends inside.

"Poor Greg."

He nodded, hoping Morgan would wake up soon. Even if she couldn't tell them what had happened right away, at least Greg would know she would be all right.

Russell was out in the hall when they got back. "Hey, Morgan is showing signs of waking up."
"You should go in, Greg. We'll be right behind you," Nick said.
"Okay." He went in, followed by Finn.
They all walked as far as the room with him, but Nick made sure Greg got to go in first by himself. Greg sat by the bed, holding Morgan's hand and whispering to her.
She moaned, fighting to wake up.
"Hey, honey, I'm right here."
She tried to fight to free her wrists that had been bound for her protection.
"Where...where am I?"
"At the hospital."
"What happened?"
She tried to focus.
"You were on the bathroom floor when I got home, bleeding."
"You tried to kill yourself," another voice sounded.
"Dad?" Morgan looked around, not seeing him, not believing what he was saying either.
"Ecklie!" Greg was thinking the same thing, but never would have said it.
"I didn't...I don't remember."
"That's okay. You don't need to remember."
"Have to remember..."
"What's the last thing you do remember?" Ecklie asked her.
"Dinner with you." It was obviously something that Ecklie hadn't mentioned to anyone, even Russell.
"What did you do to her?" Greg turned on Ecklie. "You blamed me, but you were the last one with her!"
Nick was thinking the same thing, even as he held Sara close.
Ecklie looked at everyone. "I didn't cause her to attempt suicide!"
"Neither did Greg. Or Sara."
"Didn't try to kill myself," Morgan said in a whisper.
"Then what happened?" Greg asked, his voice softer.
"I don't remember." She looked at Finn and Sara. "You guys believe me...right?"
Sara jumped in. "Of course I do. I've been telling them that they're wrong since I got here."
"Thank you," Morgan told her quietly, already tired again.
"You should sleep."

She nodded, her eyes closing.

Sara wrapped Greg in a hug. "She's going to be okay."

"Maybe." He was still doubtful.

"She will be." It was firm but kind.

"Sara's right, Greg," Nick added. "She's going to be okay." He tried not to think of several other times he thought friends would be okay and it didn't turn out the way he wanted.
"He's right. Look at me. No one thought I was going to be okay. And we weren't sure she was after the shooting. And I'm sure you three have stories like that, but it always turns out okay, right?" Finn tried to soothe him.

"How about the lab explosion? Both of us were good after that," smiled Sara, still holding him with her.

Greg nodded. "It's just hard."
"Seeing her hurting and not being able to fix it?" Nick asked, already knowing the answer that was confirmed when Greg nodded. "It never gets any easier...But the other times are worth it."
