Morgan lay on the bathroom floor, unresponsive. Both wrists were cut and gushing blood. A pill bottle, alcohol bottle, and razor blade lay nearby. Greg rushed in, yelling for Morgan to wake up as he wrapped towels tightly around her arms, trying to stop the blood. He called for an ambulance, still trying to wake her.

Ecklie, Russell, Sara, and Finn were all waiting when Greg arrived. For a moment, Ecklie looked like he wanted to kill Greg. Only Russell's silent intervention saved him.
"Greg, what happened?" Sara asked gently, pulling her friend into a hug. She thought she knew, but when she had confronted Morgan a week before, she had promised not to say anything.
"I don't know. There was so much blood..." He paused. "I think...I think she tried to kill herself. But that's not possible, is it?"
Sara shook her head. "That is not possible Greg. Don't think like that."
It was obvious that the doctor thought that when he came in, having put her on suicide watch and made sure she couldn't pull out her lines. "She lost a lot of blood."
"She didn't do what you're thinking," said Sara, though she was the only one to think it.
"Sara," Finn said gently. "I know you don't want to think about it, I don't want to think about it, but it's pretty obvious what happened."
"No."
"Maybe we should call Nick. Maybe he should come home for a little while," Finn suggested, thinking it would do Sara and Greg both some good.
"That's a good idea," said Russell. "I'll call him."
"You were supposed to protect her," Ecklie told Greg as Russell left.
"It isn't his fault," said Sara. "He didn't hurt her."
"How do you know that? She obviously wasn't happy."
"Ecklie..." Finn said. "We know you're upset. We all are, but blaming Greg..."
"We all are? How many of you had your little girl try to kill themselves?"
"That's enough! How do you know she tried to do that? Maybe it was an accident, or maybe someone did it to her! And stop blaming Greg. Where were you? You could have protected her!" Sara said angrily.
It was the first time Ecklie ever wanted to hit Sara. Instead, he used a stronger weapon. "If it were you, we could understand."
"Ecklie, I understand Morgan's your little girl, or whatever, but either shut the hell up, or leave," Finn told him bluntly.
"No, it's okay Finn," said Sara. "I know you don't like me, that's not a new thing. But at least I want to give her the chance to tell us what happened. At least I know that there's a possibility of something else going on that no-one knows about."
"That's something that everyone agrees on," Finn said, Ecklie actually being quiet.
Sara glared at him, but chose to keep her mouth shut about what he had said. Nobody in that room except Greg knew what he meant, and she wasn't going to advertise it, especially while her best friend was hurt.
Russell came back. "He's on his way. He'll call when he gets to the airport." The first thing out of his mouth when he'd heard was 'how's Sara', then 'how's Greg'.
"What happened?" He asked, looking from each.
"Nothing," said Sara. "I'll pick him up." She walked out, then returned. "Greg, don't say anything about what Ecklie said," she whispered, hugging him again before she left.
"Ecklie," Finn whispered to Russell, turning her attention to Greg.
"It was nothing. Sara doesn't want to make a big deal," said Greg, his attention on Morgan.
"I was more worried about you. You know he doesn't mean what he said, right? He's hurting. He's scared."
"I know. But Sara was right when she told him that he could have protected her too."
"Don't say that. You two need to work together, not apart. You know that's what Morgan would want."
"Yeah, I know."
