It was Morgan's first time to throw up at a crime scene. She barely made it out of the scene in time, getting sick at a trashcan nearby. The smell of the trashcan alone was enough to make her sick again.
Greg followed her. "Hey, you okay?"
"I'm not feeling too hot. I'll be right back." She knew they were shorthanded. While Finn was awake and out of the hospital, she hadn't made it back to work yet and Nick still hadn't been replaced either. She caught a whiff of the coffee that one of the cops was drinking and was sick again. "I can do this. I can."
"I'll call Sara in."
"It's her first day off in two weeks. She doesn't even have time to go see Nick. I'll be right back. I'm okay. Really."
Greg watched her in worry.
Russell joined them. "What's the problem?"
"Nothing," Morgan said, straightening up, taking a sip of her water. "I'm fine."
"Russell, I think we should get Sara in."
He looked at Morgan who looked almost green and pale at the same time. "Officer." He waved down one of the officers nearby. "Can you drive CSI Brody back to the lab?" He looked at Morgan. "Before you argue, it's either this or I get Ecklie on the phone."
"Please don't call Sara."
"I won't if we don't have to. We can handle this, right, Greg?"
"Yes, but not until she's back with her dad to watch her."
Morgan groaned. "I think I'd rather stay here."
Russell understood her thinking, being a protective dad himself. "Go to Ecklie or go to one of the girls. Jules could use some cheering up."
"Please, Morgan?" She went with the uniform, taking the evidence that had already been collected with her to store safely until they arrived.

Greg sighed in relief.

"She'll be okay."
"Something's not right."
"She's got a virus or a stomach bug. She'll be all right, Greg." He could understand why Greg was so worried, but he also had a feeling that everything would work out.
Greg didn't think that was the case, but let it go. ****************** Sara was using her night off to keep Finn company. They were watching a movie and eating pizza, cheese on Sara's part, meat on Finn's, when there was a knock on the door. Sara got it so that Finn didn't have to get up and was surprised to see Morgan there. "Hey," Morgan said, hugging her, trying to ignore the smell.
"You okay? I thought you were working?"
"I got sent home. Well, no, I got kicked off the case with the option of being babysat by Dad or hanging out with Finn, and you."
"Stay with us." Sara knew Ecklie would be all over her if she went there.
"Thanks." She made a face when she smelled the pizza, but she wasn't throwing up, at least not right now.
"So why did the kick you off?"
"I got sick. I never get sick at scenes."
"It happens. You feeling better?"
"A little."
"Sara, who is it?" Finn called, getting a little worried.
"Morgan. She's coming in, okay?"
"Yeah, of course." Finn smiled when Morgan came in, hugging her. "Hey. What's up?"
"Just thought I'd spend some time with my sisters," Morgan smiled, shooting Sara a 'don't tell her' look. Although she didn't think anything of throwing up, she still didn't want to worry Finn.
"we were watching a movie. Want to join us?"
"Sure." She settled down in a chair nearby.
Sara restarted the movie and settled down with Finn again. Morgan sipped the Sprite she'd gotten on the way over, trying to ignore the pizza.
"You hungry?"
"I'm good. You need me to get you something?"
"We're good." Sara sounded worried.
Morgan gave Sara a puzzled look.
"Actually, Morgan, can you help me get the dessert out?"
"Yeah." She got up and went to the kitchen with Sara.
"Are you sure you're alright?"
"I'm not contagious." She wouldn't have come over to Finn's if she was. "I'm just tired, but as much as we've been working, that's no surprise, and smells are making me sick."
"Smells? Like rubbish? Or like food?"
"Anything from the body tonight to coffee and pizza."
"Have you been to a doctor?"
She shook her head. "I've been tired for awhile, but tonight's the first night I've been sick like this."
"I'm not a doctor, so don't take my word for it, but I think you could be pregnant."
"There's no way."
"When we haven't been too busy, we've been very careful. There's no way."
"It can happen."
"There's gotta be another explanation."
"Like?"
Morgan was dizzy again, but not from throwing up.
"Are you okay?"
"There's gotta be another explanation. I mean, can you imagine if it was true?"
"You don't want a child?"
"I do. I have one. You know him, he's about six feet tall, thirty-five, your best friend?"
Sara grinned. "Does Greg want one?"
"Eventually. He'll flip, Sara. Dad will flip. And with Nicky and Finn, this has got to be the world's worst timing."
"No, it's the best time. Some happiness among all the pain."
She realized why it was so important to Sara now and she hugged her again.
"Go and see a doctor."
"I'll come if you want me to."
She nodded. "I don't like doctors." Residual from them causing her so much pain during her shooting and therapy.
"It's okay. We can go see Doc Robbins."
"No. He'll tell Dad. Or Greg."
"No he won't. I promise."
"I'll come too...if you want," Finn said quietly from the doorway.
Morgan nodded at this.
"Sorry, she didn't want to worry you."
"I worry when you guys don't tell me things."
"Lesson learnt."
Morgan nodded. "I should have known better. I remember that feeling. I'm sorry. We'll try not to do it again."
"Promise. But, is it just me, or do you think she could be pregnant?"
"She could be, but then again, it could be a bug or something."
"You don't believe that."
"Show me one symptom she has that can't be a bug."
"It's not a bug."
"Just don't get your hopes up, Sar, okay?" Finn told her gently.
"I won't." But her hopes were already climbing."
"We can go now, if you're feeling up to it," Morgan told Finn.
"I'm game. Sara?"
"Sure."
Within thirty minutes, they were downstairs with Doc Robbins.
"Hello ladies. Finn, aren't you meant to be resting?" asked Robbins.
"I am. We've got a problem." She looked at Morgan who told him what was going on.
"Have a seat, I'll do a blood test."
She did as Robbins told her. The test was complete in a minute. She held Sara's hand in one of hers and Finn's in the other. Robbins was back a moment later. A smile was on his face. Morgan knew what she wanted the answer to be, although she didn't know why.
"Congratulations Morgan."
She smiled, squeezing Sara's hand gently. "Really?"
"Really."
"Congratulations," Finn whispered softly.
"Yeah, congratulations!"

Sara was overjoyed for her friend.

"You should schedule an appointment with your regular doctor," Robbins said. "After you talk to Greg."
"I will," Morgan said softly.

"Is there anything we should do for her?" Sara asked.

Robbins studied Morgan. "Please get some rest." He knew how it was in this job, but he didn't approve of Finn being up already and he knew how stubborn Morgan was. He wouldn't put it past her to start working sixteen or eighteen hour shifts if she felt better and she just couldn't do that being pregnant.

When it looked like Morgan was going to argue, Sara stepped in. "She will."

She waited until they'd left to say, "I can't do that."

"Rest. Relax. Take it easy. We don't have the time." It almost felt like they were swimming upstream and water kept pouring down, more and more every day.
"You can do it. I can ask Russell to let me do more lab duties. I'm bored at home anyway. And maybe he can get one of the others to loan us a CSI until we can replace Nick." Finn suggested.

"You don't have any extra time as it is, Sara. And Finn, the doctors aren't going to let you come back so soon. And Russell won't if the doctors won't."

She looked at Finn who simply said, "We'll work it out. But you need to tell Greg and Russell as soon as you can, separately, I'm guessing, but they both need to know." She was worried about some of the chemicals they used causing damage to the baby as she said Russell, but there was no doubt Greg needed to know.
