(he loves them a lot but sometimes his mom's drama and Alexis being boy crazy drives him nuts. that's why i think he likes hanging out with esposito & ryan too because they & the poker club (if he's still doing that since it's not shown on the show anymore) are the only males he gets to hang out with)

He put the food out buffet style. "Feel up to the Christmas marathon?" On Christmas Eve every year one thing remained the same since Alexis was a baby, watching the old classic Christmas movies until they all fell asleep. "We can let Mom and Alexis do it and you can get some more rest if you want." He knew Christmas was still hard for her; it was only since they started dating that she celebrated at all. That was what had worried him most about what the boys had been telling him; he was worried that the old demons were coming back again and he wasn't there to protect her or at least be there for her.

Kate cuddled up close for a second and then walked over to the table for dinner. She was very hungry, although she wouldn't admit it to anyone. She hated it when people thought she was weak.

Castle had NEVER thought of Kate as weak. Vulnerable from time to time, but never weak. She was one of the four strongest women he knew and he didn't realize he said that aloud until it was in the air.
