Kensi woke up at six am, hearing the little boy they had adopted crying. She was exhausted, having been woken several times through the night. Deeks was already up, in the nursery, picking up the baby, going to the living room, turning on the tv, and putting his son on his chest, rubbing his tiny back.
"Thank you Deeks." Kensi dropped onto the couch next to him, exhausted. "I'm just so tired."
He nodded, exhausted himself. What he wouldn't give for a box of cronuts and some coffee. "Why don't you go back to bed, Mama? We've got this."
"I can't do that to you."
"Listen to Mama being silly, Wyatt. We're going to sit here and find some cartoons, aren't we? Maybe a Spiderman or Superman or Batman movie."
"Can I just sleep here, near my two guys?"
"Always, babe." He kissed her forehead.
Kensi slid into a comfortable position next to Deeks, her head on his shoulder. She was asleep in an instant. Deeks relished the feeling of his son against his heart, Kensi at his side. It wasn't long before Kensi was up again, this time from hunger. She went in search of her favourite food- Twinkies. The doorbell rang before she could find some.
"Are we expecting anyone?" she asked Deeks.
He shook his head. "Mine's closer," he knew her gun was in the bedroom.
Kensi grabbed Deeks' gun but relaxed when she saw KC and Callen at the door. She opened it and let them in.
"We come bearing gifts," KC whispered, carrying bags as Callen carried his daughter.
"I thought we were going to have a problem. Sorry about that. We're both so tired."
"I remember the feeling well," KC said. "Open that bag first, honey."
Kensi opened the bag.
"Twinkies, cronuts, I wasn't sure what you had in the way of groceries. I can make you some coffee if you're ready. There's some ready made lunches and dinners so you don't have to eat takeout all the time."
"You are a lifesaver KC." Kensi hugged her best friend toghtly.
"I brought the extra diapers I had left when Sarah grew out of a size and everything I had that wasn't girly."
"I am so glad that you are around."
"Is there anything I can do help Deeks out?" Callen asked. He hadn't been around when Sarah was Wyatt's age.
"I don't know. He's on the couch if you want to ask him."
Callen took Sarah to the living room. "Okay, honey, what's first? Unpack or eat?" KC asked.
"Eat."
She unpacked the bag with the food, starting the coffee. Kensi grabbed a Twinkie and opened it, knowing KC would tell her off later and not really caring.
As long as she was eating, KC didn't really care. She remembered those days, when she ate whatever she could grab. "Do you want anything with the cronuts? Scrambled eggs or anything?"
"Eggs would be great."
She got the eggs out. "Bacon?"
"Yes." She finished off the second twinkie. "Want help?"
"No. Sit down somewhere."
"Are you sure?" she asked through a mouthful of the snack.
"Yes."
Kensi shrugged and sat.
"Did you sleep at all last night?"
"Uh...maybe a couple hours."
"Okay, we need to fix that at some point today." She worked on the eggs after starting the bacon. "Will the coffee keep you awake?"
"I hope so."
"Try some. But later you're going to try to sleep a little more."
"After Deeks does. He was up before me today, and he let me sleep while he watched Wyatt."
"You can both do it. Callen can watch the kids while I get you guys set up here..." It looked like a disaster had hit it.
"Are you sure?"
"Wouldn't you do the same for me?"
"Of course."
"Then of course."
"Thank you."
"No problem." She put a plate in front of her. "Now eat."
Kensi dug in, surprised at how hungry she was. "Are you going to eat?"
"G and I ate before we came over."
"Promise?"
"Promise. We're just here to help you and Deeks."
"Okay. This is nice by the way."
She smiled. "Like I said, you'd do it for us. Besides, G loves kids."
"He is very good with Sarah."
She nodded. "He is."
"How is Sarah?"
"She's good. I think she's going to skip walking and go right to running."
"I've missed her lately."
"When things settle maybe they can have a playdate."
"I'd like that. I think Wyatt would too."
"You want to take a plate to Deeks while I clean up?"
"Sure."
She handed her a plate and coffee. Kensi took them to Deeks, taking Wyatt so he could eat.
"Thank you Deeks." Kensi dropped onto the couch next to him, exhausted. "I'm just so tired."
