Kensi giggled the whole way to the spare room, loving all the attention she was getting from Deeks. She knew it wouldn't be nice for long, and wanted to make the most of it.

He loved holding her like this; he'd missed it. He'd missed everything about her. It was almost like he lost half of himself when she was gone which scared him beyond measure. He'd never had that connection with anyone before.
(and I think that's why he gave the knife back on the show. I'm just not sure how they're gonna fix it.)

Kensi curled up on the bed with Deeks, and was asleep within a few minutes, her head resting on his chest and her arm over his stomach.

Deeks couldn't bring himself to believe it was okay, couldn't bring himself to drift off. He'd done that too often, while he was holding her, and gotten woke up by screaming, by her fighting him off before she woke up, every time. He always had an excuse for her, never let her know what had really caused that scratch, that bruise. He couldn't drop his guard.

When Kensi woke up, the sun was bright. She got up, leaving Deeks sleeping in the bed and headed out to get some coffee before heading into her back yard.

KC and Alina were playing outside, having already made coffee, and taken the little girl outside so she could giggle and play to her heart's content without fear of waking Kensi or Deeks.
