As fond as he was of Callen and KC, there was no way he was going to let her go alone. He remained where he was hidden but could still see her.

The mention of Afghanistan was the last straw. Kensi raised her gun and was ready to pull the trigger when she felt something knock her to the ground.

Joelle had Kensi on the ground when Deeks saw them. He didn't hesitate to run towards them to protect his partner.
