"Well? Are you going to talk?" He wasn't going to back down now.

"Yes you are," said Deeks. "Cause if you don't tell me why you left Kensi to get attacked and why you told everyone about it, I'll hit you!"

"I don't care about my job. I care about my best friend and what you have done to her."

"Yeah, you did nothing. You left Kensi to get raped! How could you?" Callen was so angry, he could feel himself going red.

"That didn't happen. It's not an issue."

"No, but it happened to KC didn't it? I still remember your words, Hetty. The same ones you would have had if Kensi had been raped. I don't care what I do. I don't care what you do to me. I'm going to make sure both girls get the justice they deserve if I have to go to Vance, Granger, whoever."

"Granger hates you. He won't help." She knew he would though, and it scared her.

"Maybe so, but he owes Kensi and Donald. He will. And if he won't, I'll go to D.C. Vance will listen to me or I know he'll listen to Gibbs."

"You won't go anywhere,"

"Watch me."

"I don't have to explain myself to you."

"You're right. There is no explanation. Kensi trusted you."

"She did not."

"She trusted you when you almost got her killed overseas and she trusted you to look after her, help her. Then she trusted you to keep it a secret."

Hetty didn't know what to say now. They were right but she wasn't going to admit it.

"C'mon, Callen. Let's go find Granger." Deeks turned and walked out.

"Hetty, why?" Callen asked again.

"Why what?" she asked smugly.

"It's true, isn't it? I don't think I really believed it, even after they told me, until this moment. You let someone hurt Kens. And what you did to KC..."

"I didn't do anything to KC. And I didn't know that was going to happen to Kensi."

"You didn't do anything? You lied. You let a rapist walk because we didn't have any evidence while you knew we did. You knew we could have gotten her some help. I wonder how many other women were hurt because you did nothing or do you even care anymore?"

"Of course I care."

"Then act like it, damn it. Own up. Take responsibility. Isn't that what you would tell us? He's serious. He'll go to whoever he needs to go to to make sure that the girls are spoken for. Including anyone in Washington who will listen."

"I have nothing to own up to. Go to whoever you want to."

Callen walked out the door to where Deeks was waiting.

"Let's go Deeks."

Deeks walked out next to him. "Where to now? Granger?"

"Yeah, or DC."

"Let's start with Granger."

"Alright."

They finally tracked down the older man, but neither was really sure how to begin.

"Just tell me what happened. What did she do now?"

Deeks was torn, knowing Kensi had been hurt by Hetty telling everyone what had happened, but there was no other way to get closure. He told Granger the bare minimum about both girls.

"What? She had no right! I'll deal with her. Can you try and get both girls to talk to me?"

"I'm pretty sure Kensi will," Deeks said.

"I'll talk with KC. I should have done that months ago." Callen answered.

"Thank you. I can come to them, if that's what they want." Granger was trying to make up for the way he had originally acted.

"The girls are at KC's. It's...out of town." KC was as secretive of her location as Callen.

"Bring them to me then. I'll meet them wherever they feel comfortable.

Deeks nodded, but Callen was momentarily distracted by the sight of his partner.

Callen headed forward into the hall. "You... You knew it. You knew that she hurt KC."

"What? Who hurt KC?" Sam asked, confused.

"Don't pretend you don't know."

"Look, G, I have no clue what you're talking about. I haven't seen KC in a year."

"You're lying...right?"

Sam shook his head. "Not since we worked that case together. I didn't think you had either."

"Hetty....she let them get hurt."

Sam's eyes narrowed. "Who get hurt?"

"The girls."

He looked at Deeks who had joined them. "Deeks, what the hell is he talking about?"

"Hetty was responsible for Kensi's attack. And KC's."

The look of shock on Sam's face said it all.

"Granger is going to help us. Are you?"

"Hetty told me to go home that night. Michelle and ___ were both sick. I was worried about them. She told me to go home and she'd watch the cameras."

"You know the girls aren't going to like this."

Deeks nodded and Sam continued. "Man, I figured Hetty saw it all. Why would she lie? Why would she stand there and watch someone, anyone, get hurt. I mean, KC and I have had our fights, but I never would have allowed this to happen. G, you gotta know that. I would have protected her, just like you would Michelle."

"She's in pain because of this."

"I know. I'm sorry. Yeah, I'll help you guys. Whatever I need to do."

"Make amends with the girls first."

"You can meet them when Granger does." Deeks said. "We need to fill the girls in and bring them to Kens'. I think that would be the best place, provided of course we can get in there."

"Why wouldn't we be able to?"

"You haven't seen Kens' housekeeping yet." Deeks gave a half smile.

"It can't be that bad, right?"

Deeks just rolled his eyes.

Callen smiled. "Let's get them then."

The girls were settled in KC's bed, Alina between them, the television on.

"Do you think they got through to her?" Kensi asked.

"It's Hetty, remember?" KC said, nibbling a piece of popcorn, not really hungry, but knowing they needed to eat something.

"Can we talk about something else?" She didn't want to be reminded of how Callen had listened to Hetty, believed Hetty, been completely taken in by Hetty, leaving her alone when she needed someone most.

"Definitely." they lived practically at the beach; it was the word escape she craved.
