Mac and Grace walked out of the bar and into the quiet street. It was dark outside, but there was enough light leftover from windows that the girls could still see where they were going. They crossed the road and turned a corner when they heard screeching tires and people shouting. Grace dropped down immediately, her Navy training taking charge, and watched to make sure Mac did the same. She was already hitting the speed dial on her phone, not to talk, but to make sure someone knew what was going on. Mac looked up, her Marine side taking over. She stared at the man that was coming close to her, trying to remember every little detail about him for a later date when she could tell the police or the admiral. Grace could hear A.J.'s voice on the line, getting frustrated and maybe even mad as he couldn't hear anyone on the phone. Suddenly, the man near Mac grabbed her and she screamed, having heard her boss on the phone and knowing he wouldn't give up until he found her. Grace was extremely defensive of her best friend. She grabbed her gun and ran at the guy, but it didn't stay in her hand long. Another assailant kicked it away from her and loaded her on the van with Mac. The girls screamed and pounded on the side of the van, but the street was deserted at that time of night, and nobody heard them.
"Grace? Gracie?!" The admiral was yelling so loud he could be heard audibly without picking the phone up. "Colonel? Mac?"
No-one answered the admiral. He hung up and called Harm, filling him in on what little they knew.
"I'm coming," said Harm, fear for Mac filling him.
The admiral had a trace put on Grace's phone and was able to meet Harm at the spot where the girls were taken.
"They were supposed to be having a girls' night out..." said Harm.
"Neither one of them drinks and they were going to have a girls' night out at a bar." The admiral shook his head, picking up the cell phone where Grace had left it.
"They wanted some fun."
"Let's go see if they found some." He walked into the bar.
"Excuse me, have you seen either of these two girls tonight?" Harm handed the bartender some photos.
The bartender remembered them, not hard considering the looks of the two women, the fact that they weren't drinking anything stronger than soda, and were alone.
"When did they leave?"
"Less than an hour ago."
"Did you happen to see which way they went?" asked Admiral Chegwidden.
"No, man, I didn't. I wouldn't have noticed the girls except they were both major babes."
"One of them is my girlfriend!" Harm said angrily. The admiral put a calming hand on his shoulder.
Inside the admiral was raging that anyone could refer to either girl with such little respect.
"Man, I'm sorry," the bartender said, meaning it.
"It's alright, I shouldn't have been so rude."
"You're worried. I can understand that."
Harm knew the guy was just trying to help, but he stormed out anyway.
"I hope they're okay." The bartender said, meaning it.
"Same here," said Admiral Chegwidden.
The admiral walked out to the parking lot and joined up with Harm again.
"Where could they have gone?"
"We need to figure out the cases Mac and Grace were working on. Maybe there will be a lead there."
"I hope so. But Mac and I work the same cases."
