"It's fine, Sarah."
"Do you miss him?"
"Who?"
"The admiral."
A look crossed her face. "We should get moving. If we stay here, you'll bleed out."
"You like him..." Mac teased as they walked.
"What happened to our cell phones?"
"He took them. Why won't you tell me the truth?"
"I don't remember him doing that." She frowned.
"You don't?" Mac asked, distracted from her original chain of thought. "You must have hit your head pretty hard."
"I wonder how far we've got to go."
"It shouldn't be much more. I can't even see the van anymore."
"Are you still..." She looked like she wanted to be sick. "Are you still doing okay?"
"Clearly better than you." Mac took her friend's arm. "Are you feeling alright?"
"I'm fine."

"You're right, Mac. Nothing about this is okay, but standing here and talking isn't going to fix anything. We've got to get to the guys or to a phone." Preferably the first, she thought to herself, especially as she heard howling in the distance.
"Okay. Let's go." Mac was still concerned for her friend, and she wasn't feeling great herself.

They finally came to a little farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. At that time, Grace didn't even care if anyone was home, as long as their captor wasn't there. Nothing could be worse than that. Mac stopped at the door and knocked, holding her breath. The door fell open and Grace put her hand out to steady herself. Mac grabbed her friend to keep her upright.
"I'm okay. Let's see if the phone's still connected."
"Good idea."
"Can you? I'll go check to make sure no one's here."
"Be careful."
"You too." She went to check the house.
Mac walked inside and looked around until she saw a phone. She grabbed it, glad to hear the dial tone and she quickly called Harm's cell.

"I don't know. But I also don't know how much longer Grace and I can wait," she said, her voice shaking.

"Okay, tell me some landmarks. Let me find you." He wrote a quick note telling the admiral to trace the call.

"There's just lots of farmland around. I can't see anything."
"It's okay, Sarah. The admiral's working on tracing the call. You left the city if there's farmland. Do you remember any signs on the way?"
"We were in a windowless van. You have to hurry. Grace might have a concussion."
"We're hurrying, babe. I need you to keep talking to me, okay? When we get a location, we'll get help sent out. Maybe even a helicopter. Your airsickness was always better in those than it was with me flying, right?" He teased slightly.
"Shut it. I'm going to kill you when I get home."
"Hey! How is any of this my fault?"
"I didn't say it was."
"It must be the blood loss talking," she said accidentally. She hadn't meant to tell him she was hurt.
He could tell from the way she was talking she was hurt. "Hold on, Sarah. We're coming." He paused. "The admiral says you two cause too much trouble together.
You're not allowed out together anymore. Guess you'll have to get in trouble with me more often." He teased.
"Maybe." She was starting to feel faint. "How much longer?"
"We're coming. We're coming right now." Bud was on the phone arranging for a helicopter that would both take them to the girls and take the girls to safety.
"Can I find Grace now and tell her?"
"Yeah. Is it safe outside?"
"I don't know."
"Try to stay outside, but close enough that you can run inside to be safe."
"Okay."
"I love you. See you in a little while, okay?"
"I miss you."
"I'll be there soon. When we get you better, we'll go to Grandma Sarah's, okay?" He knew how much she loved his grandma and her small farm in Pennsylvania.
Mac smiled. "Okay." She finally hung up and went looking for her friend.
Grace was satisfied they were the only ones there and was currently getting sick in one of the bathrooms.
"Grace?" Mac called.
She flushed and attempted to stand.
"They're coming to get us. Harm and the admiral. Are you okay?0
"I'm okay."
"Promise?"
"What do they want us to do?"
"Wait outside but near the house."
She nodded, walking out with her friend. It wasn't long before they could hear the helicopter ******* The best sight either man had seen in a long time was the sight of the girls huddled together for safety and warmth. It was all they could do to let the helicopter land before getting out, running to the girls. Mac and Grace were in their arms in seconds, tears running down their cheeks.
"It's okay, Sarah. It's okay," Harm whispered, holding her as close as he could given her injuries. "We're going to get you some help. Can you hold on to me?"
"I'm so glad you're here." Mac took his hand and clung to him.
"Grace, are you alright?" asked the admiral.
She leaned her head against his chest even as Harm picked Mac up and carried her to the helicopter. Admiral Chedwiggen was worried. Grace hadn't answered him.
"Admiral?" Harm turned around and saw them still there. "Sarah, stay here." He ran back to help his boss.
"She isn't responding."
"We'll get her some help, but we've gotta go."
The admiral lifted Grace into his arms and ran to the helicopter.
Grace tightened her hold on him slightly and didn't let go, even in the ambulance.
"Is Grace okay?" Mac asked.
"Yeah, babe. You're both going to be okay." He sat close to her, brushing some of her hair aside.
"I'm alright, just tired."
"I know you are. Can I see your shoulder?"
"Be gentle."
"Always." He kissed her forehead and removed her shirt from her wound.
"Owww."
"I know, sweetheart. I'm sorry."
"My leg too."
"Is it where I can check it?" They were still in a helicopter with their boss, although his attention was fully on his girlfriend at the moment.
"Thigh."
He tried to shield her as much as he could so that he could check it. "I think they're both grazes. Nothing like last time." He remembered the first time they'd gone flying together, being hunted by those rednecks after she'd been shot.
"Thank god."
"There is a lot of blood though."
"Yeah..."
"Just rest for a little while."
"Stay with me."
"Where am I gonna go?"
"I love you."
"I love you, babe. Just rest."
Mac looked at him. "Is she okay? She was sick before."
"I think she's just resting."
"Good."
Harm was glad when they touched down. "I'll go with Mac, you with Grace, we'll keep each other updated."
"Deal." The admiral followed Grace down the hall.
"Where are they going?" asked Mac.
"Grace is going to get checked out, just like you."
"Good."
He went in with her, arguing with the doctors when they suggested maybe he be more comfortable outside with a magazine or paper.
"He's not leaving!" Mac warned them.
"Of course not, Mac. I'm right here," he promised.
"I feel sick."
He helped take care of her when she got sick and then moved out of the way again. Mac cringed when the doctor touched her shoulder.

"The bullet wound was up at the top, in the middle of the shoulder," Harm told him. "I tried to clean it as best I could."

The doctor put his hand on her head to help her and drew back a bloody glove. "We need to run tests. Now."

"There's trauma to the back of the head." The doctor finally answered, sensing it was unwise to do anything else.
