"In a few hours."

"Will she be allowed to look after her daughter?"
"As long as she rests."
"Thank you."
The nurse nodded and disappeared again. *************** Kensi sat back as the doctor looked at Deeks' wound. It was obvious what had caused it, to her and the doctor.
"Is he okay?"
"I'm fine, Kens. It's just a graze."
"Please tell me he's okay."
"He'll be fine. It looks like whoever stitched you up did well. You must have just popped a stitch open."
"See?" Deeks told her.
"I don't care Deeks. I don't want you hurt too."
"Babe, I'm not. I'm not. It's just a stitch that popped."
"Still."
"Do you need something to take the pain?" The doctor asked.
Deeks shook his head, standing, his hand going to Kensi's. "I'm fine. Thanks."
He felt a cold wind up and down his spine. He looked at Kensi. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"I think we need to get back. Now."
"Okay..."
The nearer they got, the more they felt it, something was wrong with their family.
Kensi reached KC's room first. "What's wrong?"
Julia had Alina again as Callen held KC. "Nightmare," Julia told her daughter softly.
Kensi approached the bed carefully. "KC? Wake up honey. It's me, it's Kensi."
"She's awake, Kens. Just won't talk." Callen whispered, making room for her on the other side of KC. He could feel her silent screams and the wetness of her tears against him.
Kensi frowned. "KC, tell me what happened. Let me make it better."
"She kept telling me she didn't want to go to sleep. She was scared to go to sleep." He felt so helpless.
"Callen, let's see what we have to do to get her out of here." Deeks told him. "Maybe if she's at Kensi's, where she knows she's safe, it'll be a little easier on her."
"I'll keep her safe, Callen."
Kensi took her friend's hand and gently tried to soothe her. She let Kensi hold her, whisper to her, letting Callen get up. He knew he looked like hell, better to look it than to be going through it as KC was.
"Do you want Ali?"
KC shook her head, not wanting her daughter to see her like this.
"Okay. Do you want to go home then?"
She nodded as the boys slipped out.
"You can stay with me. Ali will be close then, and my mum is around the corner of we need her. Everything will be better there."

Deeks made Callen stand with his back against the wall, away from the girls. "Breathe."

"I know you are." Deeks, of all people, could understand the feeling that had taken Callen hostage and wouldn't let him go, wouldn't let him catch his breath, especially after the nightmares.

"How do I help her?"

"You were doing good, Callen. Sometimes all you can do is make sure she doesn't cause more damage to her injuries, hold her when she's scared. I...I haven't found a solution that works better and it's been going on how many months?"

"Kens just lets you hold her?" The Kensi he knew was a toughie, just like KC.

"Why don't you let me go get the ball rolling on her coming home? You take a breather." He looked at Callen. "I mean it. Kensi and Julia have got her right now."
