"Kens is still dealing with Afghanistan, Callen. Now this. And KC? I don't know what you saw, but that is not okay."
"You don't think I don't think about it? Both girls are my friends too."
"I know. It's just...From the moment that Kens and I became partners. Not the fill-in guy, but actually partners, I've let her down, I'm not gonna lie, but I've never not been there for her. Now she's talking like this doctor is just gonna put a machine on her friend's heart and KC will jump up and be as good as normal."
"She probably will. Besides, Kensi is just trying to stay calm. I'll bet she pushed the doctor to let KC stay with her."
"Where else would she stay?"
"Probably at her place if she has her way."
"Her place is a Marine barricks, Callen. She gave up her place when she went overseas. She didn't know how long she'd be gone. All of Alina's things are either at Julia's or Kensi's and KC has as much, or as little, as you."
"I wouldn't mind her being with me. It would lessen the load on Kensi, she wouldn't have to worry about Alina, she'd be safe."
"Take it up with the girls." He moved and it was obvious he was in pain. "I can't see Kens going for it unless she got to go too. And you'd know better than I what KC's mindset would be."
"I will take it up with them. Are you okay?"
"How many hours left?"
"One."
He nodded.
"Almost there."

Alina woke up and smiled at Kensi, holding her arms out.
"Hey sweet girl. Mummy will be back soon."
"So should Daddy and Uncle Deeks," Julia told her, handing her over. "Deeks said they were about eight hours behind you."
"What time is it now?"
"They should be landing."
"Good. I need them."
"I know, sweetie." She was getting worried at how long they'd had KC back there.
"I need to find the doctor."
"Stay with her. I'll go."
"Thank you."
Julia nodded, in search of a doctor or a nurse who could tell them what was going on.
"She's in recovery. Her doctor just went to check on her."
"Kens?" Deeks called as he appeared with Callen.
"Deeks! Thank god!" She handed Ali to Callen and threw her arms around Deeks.
"Dadadada." Alina rested her head against her dad.
Deeks held Kensi close, resting against her.
"Where is Julia?" Callen asked.
"Finding out about KC," said Kensi. Her voice was muffled by Deeks' chest.
"Have they said anything else?" Deeks asked.
"Not yet."
Deeks started to say something else as Julia returned. "You can see her now. I'll keep Ali with me."
"All of us?" Callen asked.
She nodded. "Yes, I asked if Deeks could go in too. He's her brother, if anyone asks."
"Not far off, Julia. Thanks," he said gently.
Kensi hugged her mother. "Thank you."
Julia took Ali back. "You'll see your mommy really, really soon, sweet girl. Daddy too."
"Bababababababa."
"Bye, cutie," Deeks ruffled her blonde hair gently.
"Bababa."
"Bye, baby girl," Callen kissed his daughter's cheek before going with Deeks and Kensi to see KC.
Kensi opened the door to her best friend's room. "KC?"
KC was as pale as the sheets surrounding her, but her eyes were open. "Hey, hon."
"Are you okay?"
"Still real tired. You?"
"I'm fine. Can I sit?"
She nodded.
Kensi sat on the bed, being careful. "The guys are home now."

Deeks followed the two, but stayed in the doorway, not knowing if the girls needed or wanted him there right then or not.
KC smiled when she saw Callen. "Hi."

Deeks wrapped his arms around her and went back out to the hall to give them some privacy.
KC stroked Callen's bristled face, trying to get as close to him as possible.
