Callen was silent for a moment. When he spoke, there was anger in his voice. "Is Deeks okay? Kensi? You? I'll talk to Granger, get him on this."

"Deeks is back with the doctor. I'll update you as soon as I know something. Kens is trying really hard to be fine, but she's not hurt at least. If you would talk to Granger and Hetty for us, that will help a lot." She paused, thinking about his question. How was she? All she knew was that she wanted him with her. "I'm fine. I'm always fine, right?" She tried to sound better than she felt as she did with everyone. Only Kensi and, when he wanted to, Callen saw through that mask.

She bit back a retort, but handed the phone to her friend. "It's Callen, honey," she whispered. "He wants to talk to you."
