Martha had known since Kate's shooting that if something ever happened to Kate, Castle wouldn't be satisfied unless he was with her. It was her greatest fear, that her children would go out in a 'blaze of glory' and hoped Alexis never picked up on it.

Alexis got the laptop out, trying not to see all the wedding related details Kate had stuck on sticky notes or saved as favorites. The wedding was so soon; they were all looking forward to it. What would Kate be doing on her wedding day? Would she be safe at home with them, hurt, missing, or even worse?

Ryan moved over to do it for him, remembering Kates happiness and encouragement on his own wedding day, her care of Jenny when he was unable, and his squabbling with Javi over who would be Castles best man. Within moments he had her pulled up.

Ryan and Esposito were right behind him. As much as Martha, Alexis, Jim, and even Lanie wanted to go, they all knew it wasn't their place.
