He shared a story with her, although it was still hard for him to talk about. "One time, something happened at work, something really bad, and I got hurt. I couldn't sleep afterwards. When I finally let you near me, you brought over our favorite foods and a Bette Davis scary movie, I can't even remember what it was called, because supposedly you didn't want to watch it alone. You were the only thing that helped me get over what happened. I fell asleep with you still talking to me." He knew it didn't make sense, the way he was telling it, but talking about the torture had been too much for either of them back then. They'd never done it and there was no reason to do it now.
