"The men that took me, they looked like him."
"How do you know that, baby girl? Are you sure?"
"I saw pictures once, and they look like the man in them."
"Nat. Guys," Lina called, knowing they were within earshot.
"What is it Lina?" asked Ryan.
"Tell them, K."
"The men look like my dad...." She said quietly.
"What? How do you know that?" Natalia asked, wondering what else she knew about Nick. She'd never wanted her past mistakes to hurt Kaya.
"Are you sure, hermanita?" Eric called her the nickname softly.
"I'm sure. They looked like the man in some photos I found a little while ago."
"We need to tell Dad," Lina said. "Nat, did Nick have brothers?"
Natalia had to sit down. "Oh, God. Oh, God." She held her hand in her hands.
"Mum? What's wrong?"
"K, maybe we should go to your room," Lina stated.
"No, I want to help mummy."
"Sweetheart, you can't," Eric told her, rubbing Natalia's back as he'd done to Marisol when she'd been sick from treatments.
"Maybe it's time she found out," Ryan said, getting a fierce 'go to hell' look from Eric and a look from Lina that could make his blood run cold. He didn't like the idea either, but he didn't want Kaya finding out any other way.
"Found out what?"
"C'mon, sweetie. Eric and Ryan will help your mom. We...we need to talk." Lina told her, holding out her hand.
"Lina, stop. Let Kaya find out from us instead someone else. She should know the truth," said Ryan.
"That's what I'm trying to do, Ryan, but don't you think you have other responsibilities right now?" She asked, looking at Natalia. Her tone was barely civil.
Lina and Kaya went back to Kaya's room, sitting on the bed together.
"What are they talking about?"
"Do you remember when I said that your biological dad, he wasn't a good husband or a good daddy?"
"Yes. He hurt mum, didn't he?"

"I don't know. I know that she had to go in hiding when she was pregnant with you. She wanted him to stop so that you would both be safe. And I know she came here to Miami, but he found her. Eric and our dad kept her safe."

"No, sweetheart. He...he died not long after Eric's sister did. And I don't want you to think he was horrible. At one time, your mom loved him a lot. He made her happy. But there was just a part of him that...that wasn't happy so he wanted to make everyone else unhappy too."
"Why did he have to make mum sad?"
"I don't know, baby. Some people repeat what they know, some people are just unhappy, and some are just down right mean."
"Is dad nice to mum all the time?"
"Baby, no one's nice all the time. Everyone has disagreements. Even Calleigh and Eric, Ryan and me, and, yeah, even Dad and your mom, but it doesn't mean they stop loving each other. I know he loves her very much."
"Good. Can we go see mummy now?"
She nodded, walking back with her where Natalia and Eric were talking about Nick's brothers. Ryan was on the phone with Horatio, giving him the information.
"Mum? Are you okay?"
Natalia wiped her eyes. "Yeah, sweetie. I'm okay. Are you?"
"Of course." Kaya climbed onto the couch next to her mother. "I don't want you to cry."
"Your mom's okay," Eric told her gently. "You will be too." He paused. "I was thinking about going to pick up Mari. Would you keep an eye on her if I brought her here? You and Lina?" He wanted to distract both girls.
"Yes. I love Mari."
"I'll go get her." He smiled for her and left.
Kaya looked at her mum. "Are they going to take me again?"
"No, sweetheart. No one's going to take you. Ryan is talking to y...to Horatio so he knows where to look."
"Is dad going to come home now?"
"Do you want me to ask him?" Lina offered.
"Can I talk to him?"
"I'm sure he'd love that," Natalia told her gently.
Kaya smiled and took the phone from Ryan. "Hi daddy."
"Hi, sweetheart. How are you feeling?" He asked, sounding tired and, although she was too young to discern it, frightened, worried.
"I'm okay daddy. Can you come home? Mummy was crying."
Against his better judgment, he hesitated only for a moment. "Just for a little while, sweetheart. I need to be here, working."
"But they're gone now."
"We'll talk about it later. I'm on my way home, okay? Tell Uncle Eric if he wants to go see Mari or get some rest he can and I'll send Aunt Calleigh home too, for a little while." There was no way he wanted Ryan to go, especially not until he arrived.
"Uncle Eric is going to bring Mari here so we can play."
"I'll call him." He didn't think that was a good idea at all. "Can you do me a favor?"
"Yes."
"Take care of sister and Mom until I can get there, okay?"
"Kay. Love you daddy."
"Love you. I'll be home soon." He hung up
"Mummy, daddy is coming home for a bit. Can I make him some dinner?"
"I'll help her," Lina volunteered, going to the kitchen with Kaya.
"Can we make the quasedillas again?"
"Again?" She paused. "If that's what you want to make."
"For daddy this time."
"Okay."
"Can you show me again?"
By the time Lina showed her the steps again, Horatio was home. Kaya finished cooking just as Horatio came in, looking for the girls.
Lina stood back as Kaya ran to him. Horatio hugged her gently. "Hi, sweetheart."
"Daddy! We made you dinner."

"Love you, sweet girl. I'm so glad you're okay." He wanted to see that Natalia was too. He couldn't decide about Lina, but was hoping that whatever was going on with her, Kaya and Ryan would help.

"I know. That's where I'm going." He kissed her head again. "You stay with Lina." He looked at his older daughter who nodded, before going to check on Natalia.
